Compare the exact selection

Choose the labeled amount per unit and quantity before comparing. A single unit and a multipack have different upfront prices. Keep product format and exact recipe consistent; similar names do not establish equivalent products.

Follow the original listing to check its quantity, availability and current price. Unit prices use the full labeled mass in each selection.

About Semaglutide

Source profile reviewed 2026-10-01 · Imported 2026-10-22. Read the full compound profile

Semaglutide is a long-acting analog of the gut hormone glucagon-like peptide-1, developed by Novo Nordisk, in which an aminoisobutyric acid substitution blocks DPP-4 cleavage and a C18 fatty diacid side chain binds albumin to give a half-life of about a week. The FDA has approved it in four distinct products: Ozempic injection and Rybelsus tablets for type 2 diabetes, Wegovy injection for chronic weight management and cardiovascular risk reduction, and Wegovy tablets, approved in December 2025 as the first oral GLP-1 for obesity. Each product has its own escalation schedule and ceiling, from 2 mg weekly for Ozempic to 7.2 mg weekly for the high-dose Wegovy injection and 25 mg daily for Wegovy tablets. A large compounded and grey market also exists; the FDA declared the semaglutide injection shortage resolved in February 2025 and has since restricted the conditions under which pharmacies may compound copies.

Review

Indication-specific interpretation matters

Diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular, and oral-formulation evidence use different doses, populations, and product instructions.

Limitations noted in the source

  • Approved dosing depends on the exact product, indication, comorbidities, and prescribing information.
  • Compounded or research-vial material is not interchangeable with an approved prefilled product.
  • A calculator preset is a recorded research convention, not a recommendation or evidence of clinical benefit.
  • Identity, purity, sterility, and stability can vary substantially outside regulated manufacturing.
