Vilon is the dipeptide Lys-Glu, developed in the 1990s by Vladimir Khavinson and Vyacheslav Morozov in St. Petersburg as the shortest synthetic descendant of the thymus extract Thymalin, and promoted as an immune and geroprotective bioregulator that acts on chromatin and gene expression. Russian studies in mice and rats reported longer lifespan and fewer spontaneous or chemically induced tumours, but one transgenic breast cancer model showed more mammary tumours, and the clinical literature from the same group describes microgram-scale courses (10 to 20 mcg a day for 5 to 10 days) in surgical, periodontal and diabetic patients plus a 1 mg daily course in colorectal cancer patients. It has no approval outside Russia, where the same dipeptide is also sold as Normophthal for eye use; abroad it is sold as research vials or as Cytomed capsules, and community guides describe 1 to 10 mg injections for 5 to 30 days a few times a year, which is 100 to 1,000 times the doses in the Russian trials.
Vilon’s Role in Chromatin Structure Regulation Vilon is known for its potent ability to regulate chromatin structure. Research indicates that it induces the unrolling of chromatin, activates synthetic processes by reactivating ribosomal genes within unrolled…
